about

This song was written with the idea of spreading hope during the Covid 19 Crisis! Frankie and I have been talking of doing a song together and well the song we originally planned to do together was replaced by this and I’m glad so! I want to say this: these times are tough but turn your mind to music, movies, and calls with loved ones. We will all power through this… I want to thank my parents most of all for putting up with my home recordings. Major thanks to Frankie Siragusa who has made my dream of one day being in studio happen (I was not in studio during this, files were sent online!! Stay home folks please!!)….

I want to share a story with you that fit the emotions behind this song and a lot that I do. I am a huge fan of the band The Posies (which Frankie is now the drummer of and you can hear his work on the Solid States album). When I was in school I wasn’t the average type that made friends etc. I was the kid who played guitar in the halls, café, and any place that would put up with my dream to be something and I kept pushing towards that dream in hopes to inspire others (still do!). Bands like the Posies, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Jellyfish, etc.. saved me from the times I just didn’t want to be a part of this world, but that’s the reason I make music to inspire others to make something whether it be art, music, poetry, etc…

I met my idol in music Ken Stringfellow when I was still in High School (17) after we did a podcast episode where I interviewed him on his music life with R.E.M and of course his band the Posies. Little did I know the avenues would open up. I got to sing Dream All Day with him at a solo show and play a Big Star song with him at another solo show he did in RI. Because of Ken I even got to see the Posies with Jon Brion at a wedding for Dean Falcone and Shellye Valauskas. (They had the Posies play their wedding how cool is that; it was the Frosting On the Beater line up!!)

More exciting stuff happened as well which lead up to Frankie and I meeting in person at a Toad the Wet Sprocket show, Jon was there too! I got to see Toad with two posies in the audience and my parents were amazed at the fact they got to meet them too (My Dad is the one that got me into them alongside my Uncle Rich). I admire Frankie a ton and we have become friends due to our mutual love of the band etc.. It is not every day you get to talk with members of your favorite band.

More about Frankie Siragusa and the LAB:

When he's not producing or collaborating with other artists around the world, Frankie Siragusa is showcasing himself as a "jack of all trades" solo artist. Since he first picked up a pair of drum sticks at the age of 3, Siragusa began shaping his musicality. With guitar and bass following shortly thereafter as his next primary instruments at age 5, an early development of songwriting and arranging began to surface. Siragusa decided to take things further and begin his quest into the world of multi-track recording with the purchase of a 4-track tape machine at the age of 13.

Following his teenage years, and upon graduating from the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in 2003, Siragusa began working as an assistant engineer in both the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. Through his experience of engineering and playing in various local bands, the need to start his own recording facility and jump into the role of record producer was iminent. In 2008, Frankie Siragusa opened theLAB Studios and began producing various projects.

Siragusa would experiment in his off-time with solo material and by fall of 2010 had roughly 30 completed tracks. From this collection, 12 tracks were selected for his aesthetically and emotionally diverse self-titled solo record. The album highlights all of Siragusa's multi-instrumental work, songwriting craftsmanship, and production style that is as true to it's influences as it is unique. A follow up EP was released in 2019 with many more projects to be released in 2020.
